Easel Card

Good Morning,

Here is one of our stamp club projects from this month. It is an easel card. These are super easy to make, you just cut your piece of card stock the long way. Fold it in half and then fold the top in half again. Then you just add a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece onto the folded top piece. I make it sound more confusing than it actually is. Anyhow, try it and you'll love the results!

These cards are both using the "Happy Moments" sale-a-bration set. The pink card also uses the new scallop trim punch and the Good Neighbors designer paper. Isn't that new punch awesome!!! There is even a corner scallop punch that goes with it.

The yellow and black card here uses the Vintage Labels stamp set along with Basic Black and Crushed Curry inks and paper. Don't you just love how those colors go together. It also uses the black striped grosgrain and both the scallop circle and the 1 inch circle punch. The colors for the other card are So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery. We used the On a Pedastal stamp set along with the chunky sprinkles glitter. This card also uses the incredible new Sweet Pea Designer Series paper. Did I mention how much I am loving the new products???

Lastly we have an Old Olive card base using the Good Neighbors paper. We also used the Trendy Trees and Sweet Stems stamp sets. Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie inks were used. And of course, one of my very favorite items.....the ticket corner punch.

More fun today!

First of all, let me say that my three year old sweetheart/whiner has turned into a four year old diva! She insisted on wearing this vest to school this morning even though it is freezing out. After she put it on though she looked so darn cute that I had to take a picture. My friend Jennifer gave it to her and she thinks it's the coolest thing ever. Thank goodness we only run from the car into the building.

I got a box full of goodies today and had a ton of fun using them. This is a purse gift card holder that I made using the FREE Sale-a-bration paper, "Welcome Neighbor". The paper is adorable, my favorite part has to be the Sweet Pea stitched felt flowers. Aren't they awesome!

I used a top note (made with the big shot) for the top of the purse and wide chocolate grosgrain for the handle. On the inside is Old Olive and Whisper White card stock. I used a greeting from Whimsical Words, another FREE Sale-a-bration set. How do I get these free stamps, you ask? New Classes!

Well, yes I know.....it has been a while. One of my New Year's resolutions is to keep up with my blog. I love sharing stamping ideas with everyone, so I really want to be more diligent with this!

First of all, this is the new class that I have been working on:

I am really excited about this class. It includes the "With All My Heart" stamp set and half a package of the "Sending Love Specialty Paper". We will be making the box using chipboard pieces from the new On Board Heart book. Here are the rest of the class details:
Date: Thursday, January 28th
Time: 1 pm - 2:30 pm OR 6:30 pm - 8 pm

Stamp Club

So today was stamp club and it was very fun, as usual. I love seeing everyone and catching up with them. Here are some of the projects that we made today:

Sorry the pictures are not very good, my camera and I are not getting along well lately. Anyhow, the first one is a quick and easy card using Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss and Whisper White card stock. It also uses Lovely as a Tree and Many Merry Messages. We stamped in Artichoke ink and then added the white using white craft ink and an Aqua Painter.

The next one is stamped with the Autumn Splendor stamp set (new favorite) and shimmer paint mixed with a reinker. We then embossed it with clear embossing powder. We used soft suede and dusty durango card stock.

We meet on the second Thursday of the month at either 9:30 am OR 6:30 pm. Each month we make three projects, including a new technique. Each person puts in a $20 order each month and then we all take turns getting the hostess benefits. We meet for 6 - 8 months (depending on the number of participants). Cool Halloween Cards

Good Morning All! I just wanted to show you a few really cool Halloween cards from my trip. This one is by Jane Wike. This uses the Pumpkin Patch stamp set out of the Holiday mini catalog. I love the look with the Scallop Square sizzix die.

The next one is by Tami White. She used the bleaching technique for the background and the body of the spider is a half back pearl (from the Pretties Kit) embossed with black embossing powder. Isn't this cool!!!

Tuesday, October 13th is my next technique class. We will be making Eight Terrific Techniques and putting them into a great little book with samples and directions for each technique. Amazing Trip!!

I'm not even sure how to begin to describe my amazing trip to Utah this past week. Stampin' Up really knows how to treat their demonstrators! This is me at the factory in Kanab. I got to watch them make the stamps we stamp with!

Seriously....I definitely gained five pounds. How can you not with all this candy.

As many times as I've talked to Shelli, I have never gotten my picture taken with her. So this was really fun. She is truly a wonderful and amazing woman.

So on our last amazing night in St. George they put up all of these boards for us showing the stamp sets from our upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog! As if this weren't exciting enough....we got to pick any one we wanted to take home!!!! I was in shock because this is super top secret. Of course, I am sworn to secrecy, but that is half of the fun. Oh, I am going to work hard to make the next Founder's Circle trip!!!

Getaway Weekend

Well, Ian's hockey tournament finally came to an end yesterday afternoon in Melvindale (yeah, I didn't know where that was until yesterday either). I am so excited to say that they won EVERY GAME and of course the finals in their category. Ian was grinning from ear to ear. That's him in the yellow goalie pads in front. What a great ending to a very tiring weekend.

Whirlwind Week!

So, I was doing so good with my posts last week....and then school started. I thought this would free me up a little, but goodness have I been crazy busy this week!! Amelia also started ballet class on Wednesday and Luc starts hockey tomorrow. Not to mention that Ian, has a hockey tournament this weekend. I guess this is why I am a Stampin' Up demonstrator instead of a 9 to 5er.

The first picture is from my last card class. It uses the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder for the Big Shot. It also uses Almost Amethyst and Basic Gray card stock. I used the white gel pen on the center of the flowers.

The next card was from my Christmas Card club last month. We meet on the third Tuesday of the month. I still have a few openings in the evening session and lots of openings for the 1:00 session if you are interested.

Mosquito Drama

Good Morning Ladies!

I wanted to share a few cards I've made recently. The first one is from the new "Beary Best Friends" stamp set. I also used the Pawsitively Prints designer series paper. I love this product line, and as I've mentioned before, my kids love it too.

The other card was copied from a swap I received at convention. The card base is pumpkin pie and then the flower is also die cut, using the flower Daisies #2 die, with pumpkin pie card stock. The ribbon is Rose Red double stitched grosgrain and the center of the flower is a white 5/8' jumbo brad. The sentiment uses the Thank You Kindly stamp set with Rose Red ink.

I hope you enjoy it. We are off again today trying to avoid the gorgeous outside. My kids are so bitten up by the mosquitoes that I have been trying to do indoor activities. I probably won't be able to stand it again today and will just load them up with bug spray and send them out. Hopefully they won't think Luc has chicken pox on his first day of school :)

Last Night's Open House

Here are the cards that we made at the Holiday Mini Catalog open house last night. I think my kids had more fun than anyone else making the Build-a-bear cards. I'm so excited about the new mini catalog. There are some really awesome new products and product lines in the catalog. And we just found out that My Digital Studio (our new digital scrapbooking software) will be available on October 1st! I was a little skeptical about digital scrapbooking myself, but I am in love with this software after seeing it at convention. There is so much that you can do with it.

Only a few more days left until the kids start school (well, Luc at least). I am looking forward to seeing my big boy go to kindergarten. I still can't believe he is going to be at school all day. This will be a HUGE change in our lives. He is also starting hockey on the 12th and Amelia is starting dance on the 9th. Add this to my older son, Ian's travel hockey schedule and I think I am going to be a zombie this year. Like we weren't busy enough already!! Wish me luck!

Founder's Circle

This year I was invited on Stampin' Up's Founder's Circle trip. This is an awesome trip and a great honor. I will get to spend time with all of the top demonstrators in the company....which means I will be getting some great ideas to share with you!!

Anyhow, we have to make 120 swap cards if we want to participate in the swap (which I do, of course). Here is the card that I made. The technique is called the Magic Snowflake technique. For this technique you simply emboss a snowflake (I used "Serene Snowflakes" from the holiday mini) with white embossing powder on glossy card stock. Then, you dab a cotton ball in rubbing alchohol and add two drops of reinker from two different colors. I used Night of Navy and Brocade Blue. Then you dab the cotton ball all over the glossy card stock. You then take your heat tool and run it over the glossy again. This makes the snowflake reappear. It is so cool and no two cards are alike. I hope you enjoy this sample!

Q: Do I have to hold workshops?

Q: Are there “minimums?”

Hobbyists: This person loves to share what she knows about stamping with others, but doesn’t necessarily go out of her way to do it. As long as she can fit Stampin’Up! into her life conveniently, she might work a lot some months and little or not at all other months.

Career Demonstrator: These are demonstrators who view Stampin’Up! as a viable business opportunity with long-term career potential. She works her business consistently, pursues management opportunities and strives to move up the career ladder.

Here is Luc with my wonderful Mother's Day picture he made. On the petals of the flower he told the teacher different things about Mom. Things like "My Mom is 15 years old" and "My Mom is 15 feet tall". How could you not love this!

A surprising number of my friends are having babies. I am so excited to be around all those snuggly little bundles. So in honor of this, I had to buy this great new stamp set, Cute & Cuddly. I absolutely love the adorable teddy bear in this set and the words, "I'm kind of a big deal". So cute! Anyhow, here is my first card using the set.

I absolutely love this card! What a beautiful card for a little girl...or a big girl (I would love this card). I used the Sweet Bella paper and a special pattern and pasted it onto whisper white card stock. Here is the pattern if you want to try it.

So Much Fun!

Yesterday was a rainy day and I actually sat in my basement and stamped all day (which means that I actually stamped for about 2 hours between interruptions for juice, snacks, "Mom, come and play with me", etc). It was such fun and made fall in love with stamping all over again. I had 10 new stamp sets to play with that I had earned from Stampin' Up for free. That made it even more fun!

So, I will be posting a card a day from yesterday's stamp fest. Hopefully I can remember to get into the habit to do this everyday. I love to share the things I stamp.

This card uses the Flower Fancy and On Your Birthday stamp sets. Here are the other supplies:

Some New Cards

Here are a couple of samples from the new catalog. The first is using the "Love you much" stamp set. It uses Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette and the Candy Lane Designer paper. I used blender pens and pink pirouette ink and stamped the hearts in close to cocoa. The card also uses the small oval punch and pink pirouette ribbon.

The second card was designed by my friend Maralee Babcock. It uses the new "Just Buzzin' By" stamp set. She used baja breeze and chocolate chip card stock. She stamped in Black Staz On ink and then colored in with summer sun, chocolate chip, blush blossom and creamy caramel markers. Lastly she added dazzling diamonds glitter and chocolate chip narrow grosgrain ribbon. This card is just adorable!!!

I am finally posting again after a very long hiatus. Sorry about that. My good friend Maralee told me yesterday that I had to post. I hope she appreciates that I am posting again.

I just wanted to share a few cards that I made for a card stack I am doing. The birthday card uses chocolate chip card stock and ink, chocolate chip and bashful blue markers, blue taffeta ribbon, white card stock and the top note die. The stamp sets are "Party Hearty" and the "Heard From the Heart" stamp set.

The next card uses pumpkin pie card stock, bashful blue card stock, white card stock, washington apple designer paper, soft subtle brads, bashful blue taffeta ribbon, and the corner rounder punch. The stamp sets are "Thank You Kindly" and "Seeing Spots".

What Happened Here?

Wow!! This is my basement after the Halloween class/card class/scrapbook class last night. It was a lot of fun....and very busy. I was pretty exhausted afterward and didn't clean up. So here is my mess, and for those of you who know me, this is pretty typical.

These are the cards we made in the "man-pack" card class. My favorite is the owls. The "celebrate You" card was designed by Maralee Babcock. My version is a little more manly than hers was.

I will post more later about the new Big Shot club!!

Big Shot Sample

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. Just the same as everyone else, I have been very busy. Someday I will find a good balance in my life where I can get everything done....this is not the day.

This sample is using our new Sizzix Big Shot. I love this machine. It die cuts not only paper, but many other materials. You can use any die on this machine no matter what system it uses.

The card uses Ruby Red and Naturals Ivory Cardstock. The stamp set is Season of Friendship from our new Holiday Mini catalog. I used chocolate chip, ruby red, and pumpkin pie ink. I also used pumpkin pie ribbon. The last thing....a horizontal slot punch. Of course I had to use a punch.

New Christmas Paper

Here are some projects that I made for my designer series paper class at the upcoming Getaway Weekend. The projects are using the Holiday Treasures paper out of the new catalog. The first project is a gift card holder. It also uses the baja breeze striped grosgrain. The second project is a cd holder. This makes an awesome little gift. I usually make a cool Christmas cd and give it to friends as a small gift. This project also uses the baja breeze ribbon and the "Deer Friends" stamp set. I stamped in baja breeze and punched the image with a 1 3/8 circle punch, then punched out a scallop circle in old olive. I punched a small hole at the top of the scallop with a 1/16th hole punch and then thread a piece of hemp twine through.

The last project is a card using the "Big on Christmas" stamp set. I think this is still my favorite Christmas set. First I stamped the image using black staz on ink. I used the real red marker, old olive marker, pumpkin pie marker, and a blender pen with baja breeze to color in the image. The card base is using the baja breeze card stock.

A Little Monkey for You

Who doesn't love a cute little sock monkey? This little guy is one of the many new sets in the catalog. I stamped him in Black Staz On ink on a piece of vellum cardstock. When the image was dry I colored him in on the reverse side with my close to cocoa, creamy caramel, pretty in pink and barely banana markers. I backed the vellum piece with white card stock and then close to cocoa. Finally, my card base is pink pirouette card stock. This is one of our new In Colors and I absolutely love it! It's such a soft, feminine color. I painted my daughter's room in this color a few weeks ago. It's easy to pick out colors when I can just take a scrap of card stock in to color match. Yes.....I am obsessed.

New Catalogs are Here!!!!

The UPS man has been to my house today!! He brought me four lovely boxes of fresh new Stampin' Up catalogs. This makes me so happy. I love looking through the catalog for the first time....the second time.....the third time....well, you get the picture. If any of you feel that way too and would like to get your hands on a catalog, here are a few different ways:

Hostess Appreciation Night - If you were a hostess of mine for a party or in a club then you are invited to my home on Monday, August 11th. You will receive a free catalog that night as a "Thank You".

Catalog Release Party and Garage Sale - This event is on Tuesday, August 12th from 12 pm - 2 pm and from 6 pm - 8 pm. You will receive a catalog as part of your $10 fee for the event. You will also get 3 make-n-takes, a ticket for the raffle, and the opportunity to buy my old stamps and get some new ones for FREE. You must RSVP and prepay by Saturday, August 9th.

Catalog in the Mail - I would be happy to send you a catalog in the mail. The cost is $9.80 ($5 for the catalog and $4.80 for shipping in the US).

Decor Elements

Introducing our new Decor Elements. These are beautiful Stampin' Up images that are made into vinyl wall adhesives. You can put these on your wall and then simply remove them when you want to change your decor. No new paint required!! We have currently have a limited selection, however Stampin' Up has much more to offer beginning in the Fall. Catalog Release Party and Garage Sale
Tuesday, August 12th

The NEW Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog is always a much anticipated publication. And to unveil it, I am holding a Catalog Release Party and YOU'RE invited!

The Cost of the Event is $10 and includes:
- Your personal copy of the new catalog that you can take home (a $9.95 value!)
- Supplies for three Rubber Stamping Make and Take Projects
- An entry into Door Prize Drawings

Sneak Peek!! This is a new stamp set coming out in the Fall/Winter catalog. The new catalog will be available on August 11th. Make sure to mark your calendar for my catalog release party on August 12th. Everyone that went on the Stampin' Up cruise this year got this stamp set as a gift. We got gifts on our pillows every night, but this was definitely my favorite! This is going to be one of my swap cards for convention.

My Very First Post!!

This is my very first post to my new blog. I'm pretty excited!! My name is Melissa Roberts and I have been a Stampin' Up demonstrator for just over 2 years. I really wanted to start a blog so that I could share Stampin' Up news, my creations, class information and "how-to's" for all of my customers, friends and demonstrators.
